"Abdominal migraine is a syndrome that presents as recurrent episodes of severe paroxysmal abdominal pain, coupled with vasomotor symptoms, nausea, and emesis that lasts for at least 1 hour 3. Historically it has tended to be a paediatric diagnosis, but it is now increasingly seen in adults. It is one of the functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) 1. Similar to the other functional GI disorders its pathogenesis remains unresolved despite extensive ongoing work 1,2."
