It has been reported to have a sensitivity of around 70–75% and a specificity of around 95% for acute cholecystitis when present in the absence of other CT features of the disease 1. In this context, recognition of the sign can increase diagnostic confidence for acute cholecystitis and may reduce the need for additional imaging."
