"On a pathologic specimen a necrotising granuloma comprises of aggregates of macrophages transformed into epithelium-like cells surrounded by a collar of mononuclear leucocytes (principally lymphocytes and occasional plasma cells) with a surrounding area of necrosis.They can result from both infectious and non-infectious causes."
