"Coeliac disease is relatively common in the White population, approximately 1% of the general population (with regional variation), and less common in the Asian and Black populations, which has historically been underdiagnosed in these groups 24. There are two peaks of presentation: a small number of patients present in early childhood, and a second, larger group presents in the 3rd and 4th decades."
